Building the Companion Hatchway

The last time it was to cold to work on the boat. I used the time to build the companion hatchway in the warm boiler room. The companion has been built without any drawing. I just looked what wood scraps are suitable and glued them together piece by piece.

The companion is now complete. It only lacks the finishing. The required working time was 41 hours

Bulb Slabs Almost Complet

The set of bulb slabs is almost complet. Only two 10 mm flat slabs I have to cast before the launch.
The upright standing slab is not made of lead, but of stainless steel. Otherwise it would be mechanically too unstable.

Working on the Bulb Slabs

After casting and fairing the bulb slabs are coated with copper filled epoxy to prevent fouling. The last step is drilling the mounting holes.
